As a City University of Seattle (CityU) student, you will have several temporary and permanent housing options once you arrive in Seattle. The following information is provided for your convenience and we strongly recommend that students make arrangements before arriving in the United States. We would also advise you to consider the residence hall or homestay for your first quarter in Seattle.
CityU recommends 3 different ways to live in Seattle:
Residence Hall
Opened in September of 2015, the new residence hall is located at the corner of Lenora Street and Terry Avenue, just blocks from downtown shopping and CityU’s main campus on 6th and Wall. Homestay
A Homestay is an excellent opportunity to live with an American family and experience the U.S. culture firsthand. The following home-stay agencies provide placement service for students interested in living with U.S. families. A placement fee is paid to the agency and then monthly payments go directly to the family with whom you are placed. In addition, the agencies offer airport pick-ups and delivery to your home-stay site. Apartment
Apartments usually require you to agree to a lease of 6 months or one year, so please be certain of where you want to live before you agree to the lease. It is usually a good idea to wait until you are in Seattle and can visit the apartments in-person before signing a lease.
