Korean 1–3 Intensive meets twice a week, with each class session lasting approximately two hours. The course is specifically designed and structured to cover the equivalent of three quarters’ worth of material within a single quarter, providing an accelerated path through the Korean 1–3 sequence.
Using the Seoul National University Korean Language 1A and 1B textbooks, students will learn to read and write Hangul and build practical skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Korean. By the end of the course, students should be able to introduce themselves, talk about their families, hobbies, and daily routines, make simple plans, order food, shop, ask for directions, and handle other common everyday situations. Along the way, students will learn the core grammar and vocabulary needed to continue into higher-level Korean courses. Rather than simply memorizing grammar rules, students will be encouraged to use Korean actively in class through conversation, listening activities, and practical communication tasks.
