World Language Application

Evening Courses (Semi-Intensive)

Washington Academy of Languages's semi-intensive evening courses meet twice weekly. Each class meeting is for three-hours. Students are immersed in the target language from the first day. The languages offered as group classes are Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Persian (Farsi), Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Vietamese. The small class size allows for a high level of interaction with the instructor. Class time is focused primarily on speaking and listening activities. Reading and writing are covered more thoroughly in homework assignments and are integrated into the program as you progress.

  • Classes meet M/W or T/Th, 6 - 8:50pm
  • Small classes-maximum 12 students in one class
  • Focus on communication and fluency-building
  • University credit is available for most classes.
