TESL Funding Opportunities

WAL is a private, non-profit, non-degree-granting educational institution. Only degree-granting institutions are permitted to offer financial aid. Full-time SPU and PLU students should inquire about financial aid available to them for study in WAL programs.

WAL works with SPU and PLU to accept Americorps, VISTA, vocational rehabilitation and Boeing tuition vouchers.

PESB Educator Retooling Scholarship

The conditional scholarship is a loan that is forgiven for teaching service (in the added endorsement area) in a Washington state K-12 public school. The state shall forgive the loan obligation entirely if the recipient teaches in the shortage area endorsement area in a Washington state public school for two years.

Through the College Cost Reduction and Access Act of 2007, Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.
