Washington Academy of Languages
Mission/Purpose
The mission/purpose of the Academy is to promote cross-cultural
understanding through language instruction and teacher training. The primary target population for the Intensive English Program are non-native English speakers whose objective is to improve their English proficiency in order to
study in a U.S. institution of higher learning or for other purposes. The Academy also trains students in a number of world languges and offers graduate Certificate Programs in Teaching ESL and Bilingual Education. University credit is offered for these programs through Seattle Pacific University.
